Kurt T. Bowers, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Kurt Bowers was born and raised in Bloomington, the son of local educators and coaches James and JoAnn Bowers. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in 1987, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa in 1991. He completed a residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from the University of Iowa in 1993, receiving both a master’s degree as well as a certificate in the specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
Dr. Bowers returned to his hometown of Bloomington to begin practicing orthodontics in 1993. He and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Hanneman Bowers, were married in 1994, and practiced together for several years. Dr. Hanneman Bowers is now a consultant to the practice.
Together, the Bowers have two teenage children and reside in rural Bloomington. In his spare time, Dr. Kurt enjoys training for and competing in triathlons, scuba diving, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Stephanie Hanneman Bowers, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Stephanie Hanneman Bowers was born and raised in eastern Iowa and is the daughter of Dr. Ronald Hanneman, a retired orthodontist, and Joanne Hanneman, a retired dental hygienist. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and completed her residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in 1994. Although not actively practicing clinical orthodontics on a daily basis, Dr. Hanneman Bowers remains a full-time consultant to the practice.
